Although these rules are common sense, we will list them just so everyone has the same rules in mind, and to avoid confusion. This is a Serious Role Playing Room, so please keep ALL the OOC chat to PMs or if you have to use ICQ, AIM, etc. Remember that OOC disrupts the Roleplay and so is unfair to those RPing. If you really want to do OOC chat and do not know where to go, then ask another user (in PM of course!!) for a OOC chats location, there are 1000's of rooms for that This room is for serious role play of the room theme only. Please make every effort to stay within the theme and of course no Spamming the room with gibberish. Of course Favourite Songs or Latest Pictures, etc should be send in PM only. Please treat others with proper respect: slurs, jokes, comments or, bashing on the basis of ethnic background, gender, lifestyle, religion, etc. Will not be tolerated. Pornography, Profanity, Soliciting of C-Sex, are not acceptable in this chat at any time. I realize that sometimes in Roleplaying you need to express emotions or anger. Use less offensive words. You can get your point across without the 'F'& 'S' words etc. Many good Role Play chats have closed and will close due to abuse. We supply this room for your use and enjoyment for free. We feel we are more tolerant than some corporate money making chats that send you a form email to your complaint, but please keep in mind that what we want to spend our time doing is the same as you, enjoying the role play. To this end try and limit your complaints to us about other users as much as possible and please use the Ignore feature whenever possible. Remember it is rare to win an argument just because you are right, and it is harder to take critizism when wrong. We are very serious about maintaining the integrity of our role play. We will try to be as tolerant as possible, but will ban without hesitation when necessary. We will warn of a breaking of the rules, when possible and if practical. If we ban you, it does not necessarily mean we don't like you, but it DOES mean that you have strayed outside the rules. We realize that sometimes a warning is not noticed, and so we will apply the following liberal banning schedule: 1st offense warning. 2nd 24 Hr. ban 3rd 1 week ban 4th permanent. Please do remember to not argue with a staff member that warns you, being a staff member is an appreciated but thankless job and they need to have no arguments. Please remember this is a RP room and so do not treat it like a BBS or message board. If you are RPing somewhere else do not leave 'You can find me at such & such' posts here. Be courteous and use icq or email your friends. Putting OOC posts of that nature upon leaving will of course result in it being erased and your being banned. This chat reserves the right to grant membership. It also reserves the right to ban anyone for any infraction or for any reason we determine is necessary or in the best interest of the chat. Also remember that the goal here is to have fun and enjoy Role Playing. Welcome 'Newbies', we were all 'Newbies' at one time. It is no fun being ignored if you are not a member of the clique, and cliques soon die without new members. Nothing discourages new member more than being ignored. If they are lost as to what to do, try to help them, PM them and explain the room and what goes on here. Images: Limit image sizes to 50K or a height of 400 pixels MAX! i.e. a 650 pixel high image will not be allowed even if it is 50K or les, it fills the screen on most members computers. Finally, do not post URLs to other chats, whether they are at SFWEST or not. Owners do not want friction with other chats, and this causes that. If you need to tell you friend about another chat, as with anything else OOC, use PM. Reputable owners will not post their URL at someone's elses chat. Stay out of it. Your IP and post will be sent to them along with a complaint if you do violate this rule. For those who think they can abuse anonymously: Do not think you are anonymous, your ip #s show and we have a great TraceRoute program, and will not hesitate to contact your provider if you make it necessary.
